Permit me to introduce myself. I am Maurice Cross MD and I am the
Director of the DDRC at Fort Bovisand , Plymouth. We are a large British
Hyperbaric Unit with a mixed gas capability and we treat very large
numbers of cases of decompression sickness every year. Although we are in
the SouthWest of England, we are the nearest recompression chamber with
24 hour availability and mixed gas capability to the wreck of the
LOUISITANIA.

It has been agreed between ourselves and the Irish Authorities that in
the event of a an incident on this wreck, the divers will be flown by
Irish Helicopter to our facility. The flight time is about 55 minutes.
This arose after a recent tragic incident where a chap made an
uncontrolled ascent from 290 feet and ended up a bit the worse for wear.

If you are planning a dive trip to the LOUISITANIA THEN WOULD YOU PLEASE
INFORM US prior to starting your diving operations. We would like to know
such information as:

Number in Party,
Dates of diving operations.
Mixes to be used.
Availability and qualifications of any medics/paramedics in party.
Level of medical support equipment on site.

In return we will send you detailed information and the latest SOP
concerning the means to be used to get our assistance. We will probably
come over to Ireland and visit you at the start of your trip since we
find it helpful to know people.

Please note, we do not take a censorious or judgemental attitude to
'Technical diving', we just need to know if any action is taking place so
that we can be ready.

Maurice Cross MD,
Director, DDRC,
Fort Bovisand,
