Steve - I just went through this rigamarole. Get the MSDS and gas breakdown for the normal industrial He - If it is 99.997 pure, then it's probably what you want. My gas supplier offers this in an industrial grade for $42.00 for a 291cuft cylinder. Same thing for O2. I just found out that my supplier actually evacuates the O2 cylinder before refilling it (making it no different other than price & batch processing) than medical o2, all for $18.00 a cylinder (251cuft), without the prescription hassle. Even NOAA's latest regs say that industrial O2 is suitable for breathing, but may have an objectionable odor (yeah right) At 11:44 AM 10/7/97 -0500, you wrote: >Interesting. >I was pricing helium lately, and the local distributors were fairly vague >about grades, and said for human consumption a super, super clean grade was >needed, at a tad over $100 a tank for a 260-300 cf tank, which is about 4 >or 5 times the cost of O2.
