I read in this month's (October 97) issue of Consumer Reports on page 33 = that Scubapro has issued a recall on the G500 second-stage. I have = reproduced the exact wording of the notice below for anyone who cares. ------ Snip Scubapro G500 second-stage regulator used in scuba diving. VIVA control knob could detach during dive and allow water to rush into = regulator, resulting in possible drowning. Products: 1800 regulators, with serial number 13497450 or lower, sold = 3/97 - 6/97 at diving specialty stores for about $300. Serial number is = located on the bottom face of exhaust manifold. What to do: Stop using regulator immediately, and contact nearest = authorized Scubapro dealer to arrange for free replacement of VIVA = control knob.
