Dear Tom, I see you agree with me that this was a response to dealing with idiots - better you than me, but I am not talking about training, I just pointed out, as you confirmed , what the genesis of this practice is. I am talking about why I do not use 80/20. On the double 80 thing, all I can tell you is that anyone who can only last for the times you mentioned should see a respiratory therapist, and problably get an emergency chest xray right now. I was not talking double 80's anyway, I get twice the mileage you mention on a single 80. I have no doubles for ocean diving anymore, unless I am using a drysuit - if it is deep enough for doubles, it is cold enough for drysuit, but that is not what we were talking about. You do what you have to, but just between you and me, if the "intructors" out there do not know why they are doing something, I would suggest they change jobs. Also, on that air thing, that is silly - why would anyone do a long air dive - I thought we were talking technical diving. No reply required, I konw you are just trying to use an example that everyone might understand, however improbable. I do it differently , but everyone already knows that - don't feel you have to explain yourslef, I said in the opening sentence of my post that it was axactly what you just said it was. We agree on something , Tom, or was that a fake? I am glad I am not an instructor, I would shoot these guys in five minutes. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
