Thanks. > >Carlos Accioly Carlos, I recently had a discussed the issue of diving after RK, PK, and the = newest Lasix surgeries. One of the teams that developed these and promoted these = surgeries in the US said that after myopia surgeries in general, sport diving to = 130fsw or so was OK after initial healing which is 4-6 months depending upon the = surgery involved. He went on to state that if I was crazy enough to dive to 300fsw or = deeper then the risk of doing so after healing was probably insignificant compared to = the risk of the dive itself. Interesting thought process. However, he also stated that commerical divers are generally = prohibited from diving past that 130fsw mark after these surgeries for fear of the stress = placed on the cornea. If you had a laser =B3blade=B2 RK, it=B9s probably safe to dive as = soon as you no longer need drops and if healing is complete. Don=B9t dive if the drops = contain steroids - as apparently your earlier ones. If you had the = lasix procedure, it=B9s so new I=B9m not sure anyone can give you solid advice. Good Luck. You might call and discuss this with Dr. Casebeer in = Scottsdale, Arizona who is a pioneer in this field in the US. I=B9m sure there are others who = could offer good advice as well. Hal did.
