Yeah Gordon, maybe that's where you and I went wrong. We picked up bad habits 
in the '60's. We learned to experiment just like Bill Main and also learned 
there is more than one way to skin a cat.

hello.
you NAILED it.  my guess is everyone who would disagree is cowed 
to some extent by the flaming that happens when they speak for a 
reasoned approach.  i can remember back in the late 60's when i 
first got certified that gear configuration, etc, was an emerging 
science and experimentation was the rule.  back then, you still 
had to be able to actually swim to be a diver.  i try to practice 
hogarthian but will not do something just because someone whom 
i've never met, doing something i will never get to do, said that 
is the ONLY way to do it.
