I catch nothing but heat from Zero on the hogathian rig. I finally told him to shut up because I was tired of hearing about it and if he wants to be a bumblebee and dive the way he does, that's ok just shut up about it already. I am, due to mostly genetics with some laziness thrown in, large enough to wrap hose without a problem and EVERYONE I dive with EVERYWHERE hears about two signals I always require before diving with them- #1 - Thumb Up = Dive Over #2 - You need air, just take the reg out of my mouth. I breath the long hose so that if the event happens, it's with a minimum of fuss (I also do it with a single for consistency's sake - a little crazy I know). I also tell them that I fully plan on doing the same if necessary, and sometimes they aceept it and sometimes they don't, but if I need gas (has only happened once early on), I'm gonna get it from a guaranteed source - my buddy's mouth. I never heard the story about someone free diving to deliver you gas. Pray tell ;-). ---------- > From: Wrolf.Courtney@do*.co* > To: Techdiver@aquanaut.com > Subject: Re: Hogathian Precepts and the Isolation Valve > Date: Friday, August 15, 1997 10:17 AM > > > > I would like to thank everyone for the wealth of pointers. > > I have already adopted many of the principles, based in large part on von > Maier/Solo Diving, Gary Gentile's books and course, > techdiver discussions of the past, and observing the practice of the many > more experienced divers here in New York. > > I plan on *slowly* adopting the vast majority of the Hogarthian rig -one > piece at a time, as $ permits. > > One item that I don't think is addressed is my practice when for one reason > or another I am buddied up with another diver.
