> Not more labels, but the same labeling system used in the >commercial gas industry ( no more tank wraps or dedicated cylinders ). >Everybody doing it the same way ( one standard ) There is no such standard. The markings here in the US are different from the ones used in either Mexico or Europe. That means that there is no standard. > You are a "dreamer" if you don't think I can be sued when a diver >dies as a result of the wrong mix at depth. It's called product >liabillity. When the product results in a death, the manufacturer >must prove that the person was made aware that they shouldn't use the >product in the way they did. Go look at a nomal 6' step ladder. All >the warning labels are the result of law suits resulting from misuse >of the product. The same is true in any industry, it's certainly true in mine. Those of us who know what we're doing rarely get sued, (although, yes, we do, occasionally get "nuisance suits" thrown at us) and when we do, they are easily dealt with. Ted, if you know what you're doing, you have nothing to fear. If you have fear... well, I leave that choice to you. I'm sure that your fears of lawsuits are well founded. I suggest you pay attention to them, and limit your actions accordingly. Forget about the money such choices will cost you, that money was never yours to begin with. It belongs to well run, sophisticated dive stores, who have a reality based view of product liability. >We don't want Control. We want protection from you when you misuse our >product and your widow tries to sue us! Then gain the knowledge and attitudes that provides such protection. What you are doing certainly doesn't provide it, my heirs can sue you as easily with your idiotic restrictions as they can without them. Your only possible protection lies in your expertise. You are as vulnerable as you are afraid you are. That's the temperture, and this is the kitchen. > Enjoy the 1950's. It's obviously the time period you live in! I was born in 1957. I'll have to defer to your knowledge of the 50s, ancient one. --------- "Huh?" --Jammer, 1992 --------- -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
