I feel I ought to clarify - I sent Bridget a post describing a conversation I had about two years ago with an actively diving diabetic, so I'm not sure about some of the information; particularly that relating to diabetes - treat the info with care, Bridget! I did say I recommended seeing a GP, in the case of those I meet face to face he's a friend of mine, an experienced diver, and one listed by BSAC as a contact. I also suggest contacting BSAC for another contact. The difference is that as Bridget points out, what most GP's know about diving (no offence intended) could be written on the back of a postage stamp. BSAC has a list of doctors who dive and can be contacted in case of a problem that your local doctor and hospital can't deal with. I used it once - very helpful system. I gather in the states DAN is the nearest thing to BSAC, so I'd advise contacting them and asking for references to a doctor. And not believing *anything* over e-mail!!! ;-) Jason.
