In a previous post I did say that after wading through the Uwatech and
TDI propaganda and infomercial you might find an article or two with some
real information. I was rather disappointed at the Nitrox article,
however. While it was balanced for the most part, I think that it did not
cover the PP02 exposure issues. But then this might hurt the TDI nitrox
class attendance, would'nt it?

As far as I am concerned, since the magazine changed hands, it has gone
to the shitter, fast. I think that the last articles worth a damn were
those penned by George Irvine. No bullshit fluff articles in those days.

But, as any reader of Gilliam's would attest, he is the champion pro of
deep air and I wager that plenty of TDI's income can be traced to the
dozen or so deep air/technical nitrox classes offered up by Gilliam and
other agencies. And for some reason he takes issue with George Irvines
stance against deep air/nitrox.

The part which disturbs me is that rather than debate George in the court
of public opinion, he has decided to use his connections in the industry
to discredit George and the Woodville Karst Plain Project. He has sent
letters to the State and to WKPP sponsors in a sleazy, underhanded
attempt to screw over George. Now he wants to use the power of his
position at DeepTech to write articles defaming George and WKPP. This is
some real pussy behavior.

This situation makes me seriously doubt the usefulness of DeepTech as a
resource to technical divers. What we as divers want is non-biased,
accurate, and intriguing writing and photographs, not a bunch of
marketing, political, ego-stroking bullshit dribble which characterizes
several of DeepTechs latest articles. Deeptech, Uwatec and TDI have
entered into an unholy alliance which will NOT benefit it's suscribers
and if you ask me, you guys ought to save your money and wait for a real
tech magazine to make an appearance.
