Subject: Scooters in the Ocean

I'm thinking of getting another toy for Southern California Diving, a
Scooter, say a Pedator 2000 or perhaps a 3000?  I can very easily
imagine the usefulness of such a device for Cave Diving.  However, if I
get such a device for the open ocean will I wind up selling it in a
month or two, or will it wind up being indispensable, a most have item
for every dive?
