Senor Meester Cobb, How badly did you bust it? Is the canister shattered, or did the bottom just fall off? John Rose, whom I had the pleasure of meeting at Ginnie a couple weeks ago, showed me his fix for sproinging (spelled correctly) a leak in the base of his AUL - he buffed and roughed up the inside of the base and the inner circumference of the bottom of the cylinder and dumped in about 3/8" of epoxy. Buffing the surfaces helped him get good adhesion, and now the "plug" and the base are _almost_ but not quite as solid as the Gavin lights - on which the base is actually cut to fit inside the cylinder, so there's more surface to seal the adhesive to, and nothing protruding to knock off. As an added bonus, adding the epoxy fill brings the battery stack up snug enough to where it doesn't slide back and forth in the canister, making annoying noise and possibly damaging the wiring. I hope you didn't mean shattered. I don't guess the expensive part of one of those lights is the battery stack or the handle.....
