Steve just mentioned that the patency might cause a low pressure zone within the heart. Sounds likely. Anybody know how much of a variation in pressure there normally is in the system? I'd expect pressure to be lowest just outside the heart's intake from the body, perhaps encouraging bubble formation there. A pretty good place for it, considering that the next stop is the lungs.
