Subject: Deeptek Article
Deeptek did an article on me that appears to be a combination of an
interview and some injected editing. They start out crediting me for
naming Billy Deans the "Organ Grinder Monkey", which I will neither
confirm nor deny.

  Other innacurracies:

1) the "make extra money " comment: what I really said was I learned to
dive so I could change the props on the boats.

2) the training agency comments are not mine: what I really said was the
deep air courses should be dropped, tech should be taught by people who
do it in an apprentice fashion, and money should be spent wisely on
necesary gear, not overpriced silliness.

3) obvoiusly the cave (Leon) is 100,000 linear feet, not sqaure feet.

4) we are not the "Wakulla Project", we are the Woodville Karst Plain
Project. Wakulla is just one site we are working in a giant ecosystem.

5) my comments about Stone were not related to deep air diving, although
that was done during his project, they were regarding what I call
"Klingoncruiserism", and Personal Preferance For All.

6) I do not work for the House of Hope and Stepping Stones, I am a
managing director of it, in charge of private fund raising. The other
comment relates to the fact that I am a Stephen Minister.

7) I am not the designer of the scooters, Bill Gavin is. I am the
builder, along with Bill Mee. The only "designing" I did was to finish
out the mechanical drawings and standardize all of the components. Gavin
would have done it himself if he had not been so embroiled int he EX19
project. Mee did the electric. The result is that all of the scooters
are interchageable in every aspect, other than the original plastic
version Gavin made, and the original metal version I made.

I am not in the diving business in any way, I do run this project, it
is volunteer, but has some Federal Grants. I do sit on some Government
committees, and I am active in this and other enviromental organizations
in South Florida as well as North Florida. We are sponsored by several
equipment manufacturers, but they all approached me in this capacity,
and I already had all of my gear anyway, so the prime beneficiaries of
this sponsorship are the may young guys and students in our project.

I do not care who likes me or does not like me - I do not have to
answer to anyone in the dive business , and it is quite clear that I get
the job done, and I have grabbed the attention of enough people to make
a difference in future safety, and that will save lives and allow us to
keep diving the difficult sites.
