Dissolved liquids or moisture in > the mask could be caused to make a "cloud", which it seems that this must be. > So, just like with any diving, it is probably related to the pressure. many thanks to all who replied, specially tim and laura: laura, i too have had the fog on deep air dives as well as mix.. only on ascents. tim, i think you are on-it in your theory above; there is a cave that we visit on oahu that is about the size of a small school bus, after making your way thru a "tube" for about 125feet you end up in the room that is back at the surface (the opening is at 55fsw aganist a crater wall). five divers can easily stand in waist deep water and remove their masks. when the surge comes in the cave fills with a thick fog for about five seconds, then it's gone, i expect due to those pressure changes... makes we wonder tho... where is the "compression" coming from in our lungs or masks... john... haven't seen your thoughts yet sir.. thanks again folks.. btw laura, just had an instructor in the shop this last week from washington state (ssi, pretty blond) ranting about how cool you and your shop is :-) ... small world huh.. aloha dennis
