To all
Interesting to see that even if you place a serious question in this
forum, George and Ted still manage to quarrel about it.
For those of you who answered seriously , thanks, I now understand it
is just a matter of weight and the fact that it looks nice is totally
unimportant in my opinion. I choose the Stainless steel backplate
because I assumed it was stronger than the plastic. My only problem
now is that with all my gear (wreckdiver so hammer, crowbar etc.) I am
a little to heavy.
One thing I learned though from the "word-fight"between Ted en George.
I understand that the Dive-rite has a dump valve build in the
inflatorhose. And although many of you will see this as a
non-conformity with the Hogarthian setup, I have always used it and
liked it and it is much better than the dump valves that are standard
on the OMS wing. Because the contraction bands deform the wing you
never find it when you need it.
Therefore, to hell with the flames, if it works for me it's okee.
Can anyone tell me
Is the Dive-rite inflatorhose-with-build-in-valve really poor quality
or is what Ted referred to just an incident ?
Is the Diverite inflatorhose-with-build-in-valve interchangeable with
the OMS inflatorhose (without valve). I mean can it without
modifications be placed on a OMS wing ?
Or can OMS supply a inflatorhose with dump valve ?
If there is a general idee that these valves are poor quality then
copy Dive-Rite and OMS in your reply. Poor quality is a crime in
diving.
