Dick,

According to what I've just read in BYTE, the MAC 7.x OS will be 
"supported and improved" for several years to come. The backward 
compatible MAC OS will be an OpenStep process with a single pre-emptive 
thread that hosts the MAC OS, but code will execute "natively" and not 
through any sort of emulator.
