Sorry, I am out of it on this one - have no clue. The only
time I use thee devices is when the manufacturer asks me to
take one along to see what it says relative to what we know
works. We did this for Beuchat with their stuff, but I sent
the computers up from 200 feet and just gave them back along
with the schedule we did. They never told me what the
comparison was on any of the models we used.
One made a great depth and temp guage , as it had a fast
response time - I think that was a Cochran-made, but the lcd
mashed at 300 feet, and there was a problem with some of the
programming - Bill Mee spotted that. The Uwatec stuff was
ok, and they are usually who makes most of this stuff, but
even the best is no match for proper tables. We figure the
actual multi-lever stuff ourselves.
To tell you the honest truth, I think they all are a
waste, and the only use we have found for them is to record
the ups and downs of a cave, but then I survey all of this
stuff and know that anyway- the places we needed it were
caves we did not explore the beginnings of, like Manatee,
but it ended up not making an diference - we were only
looking for the optimal stage drops.
We all love toys, but I like kinetic ones, always have. -
