Subject: Re: Biodegradable line
-If you fail to return to the anchor line, you carry a "decompression line",
-a big reel with about 200 feet of sisal. You run the line up with a small
-(e.g. 50 lb) lift bag, and then tie it off.

-I have only had to pop a bag when the anchor came free. (It's true!, I have
-witnesses.)
-The rationale for using sisal is that since it is biodegradable, you don't have
-to worry about the extra entanglements that you are causing for the next diver.

Thanks for the cord name. I knew that. Thats a good point you make Jr.
I didnt think about that one. My options right now are to either
invest in a wreck reel (with the white nylon cord) and a lift bag or
the sisal spool. Im not sure which would be the better investment.
Most of the diving I do is deeper so I thought the sisal spool would
be the right choice for now. Its thicker to hold onto if I have to use
it to ascend and decompress. (Hopefully I never get into that situation)
My inclination right now is towards deeper diving versus heavier wreck
penetration. Id like to be taking the ANTD Deep Air diving courses
by the summer, 165'-190'. What are the thoughts and practices of some
	you.
