Tom, I was already certified when I was in your office with you and Billy
Deans - my TDI certification had nothing to do with what we were working on
at that time, the Halcyon rebreather training program. Jack and Bill were
outside looking at your compressor system.

I listened to you , you gave me a list of things, and said you would get
back. You did, and that was that. As you recall, the only bone of contention
was that I did not sit for the PADI IE, as I could not remember what those
morons wanted to hear in place of the truth. I did do all of the rest of the
course, and I traded that series of courses for a dive ladder from my dad's
boatyard for the boat owned by the Course Director, so in fact, I had
actually done everything you asked already.

The runaround came later when you guys started getting nervous about what
the other instructors would say, in terms of me being a competitor to them.
I assured all of you tht my intentions were and are only to accomodate
Robert and Jack with a local Halcyon instructor, and to train my own guys on
the unit. I do not certify my divers at WKPP, I only train them - that is
all that I promise in my permits. As you can see, and as you know, they are
actually ceritfied by you, Armentrout, Jarrod, Berman, Pat, Tyler, Larry,
and I think we even have a few Tony Satterfield certifications. I am
acutally ANDI certified myself for nitrox, TDI for mix, and IANTD for
rebreather and the supervisory certifications. I also have all levels of
CMAS, and about ten PADI certifications, the first one coming fifteen years
after I started diving.

Since I actually learned this myself, I should be self-certified, right?
Gavin taugh me the fine points, just like I teach my guys - maybe some of
these new guys can call Bill Gavin and tell him he is not qualified to teach
trimix or rebreather?

As you and Billy know, you have both done more trimix dives with me than
any of your other instructors, and you both remember that Billy and I
jointly had tables made many years ago. I used Billy's safety standards, and
Hamilton's or Gavin's or Shell Oil's oxygen limit stuff. We all know how all
of this evolved, as we were all working together on it, and you were right
in the middle of it with us from the beginning.

Parker wanted me to do this, and as Gavin said, "conceivebly , you and I
could not be allowed to trimix dive if the regulation sets in. The petty
silliness of all of this is overwhelming. We all know who does this best.
