Providing 100% normobaric O2 will has many beneficial effects: 1. Increased offgas rate 2. Bubble size reduction 3. Increase O2'nation of any areas w/ compromised circulation 4. Possibly reduce edema. Thus it should not be withheld from a suspected DCI victim. Should px convulse, discontinue O2 till seizures subside (like a grand mal seizure it is self-limiting & should B handled like a grand mal seizure). Once seizure has subsided, O2 may be resumed. Victim will not be denied chamber treatment, although the history of gases the victim was exposed 2 will be considered when determining protocol.
