If you have already received this message, I apologize. The first = time I tried to send it a received about 30 messages that it was not = deliverable. =20 Jon Much of my diving is in 34deg. To 38deg. Water. What we like to use = is the Viking dry glove (shell). The best liner I have found is a = thinsulate "garden glove" made by 3M. The glove can be fragile and a = pair of wet gloves or mits can be carried as backup. What I have done = to mine is to "reinforce" the high wear areas by bonding another layer = of old glove to the surface. We use nylon tubing under the wrist seal = that can be pulled out in an emergency to stay dry after installing your = backup mit/glove. =20 I choose this method because it affords me the dexterity I prefer while = maintaining the warmth I need. =20 An example of the liners - I was using argon so did not experience the = situation by my dive partner was using air. During an ice dive that we = completed this past Sunday in 34 degree water, we surfaced after about = one hour of bottom time. After getting out of our rigs and starting to = remove our gloves, my partner noticed that inside the dry glove shell = and on the outside of the 3M liners was a coating of ICE !! In spite = of this, the inside of the liner was still dry and warm. I have tried = many different types of liners but none have even come close to matching = the performance of these.
