I would think that it depends on the (or your) definition of the term
'hogarthian'. If you define it as 'less is best', you may find that for many rec
dives the use of manifolded doubles would be 'unhogarthian'. But I dive a lot in
cold water and like the idea of having two first stages. Of course an H-valve
would accomplish the same, but  I still like the in-water stability of a doubles
rig.

And I firmly believe in breathing the long hose and having the backup around the
neck. Even for solo dives and single tanks.

Other opinions welcome.
