To all involved in deep wreck and cave diving: late yesterday, July 17,
Ed Suarez died on a deep mine penetration in West Virginia.  Not much
is available as of 7:30 am, Monday, but preliminary info is that Ed was
on mix, and may have switched to an air regulator by mistake.  Opinion is
that he blacked out either from O2 tox or N2 narc.  He was last seen floating
towards the roof of the mine shaft.

Many Doria divers may remember Ed from all of his Doria dives.  He had more
Italian line china in his dinning room than the boat probably has now.

Ed was also heavily involved in cave and deep diving.  He was a PADI instr.

More will be posted when available.  A group left at 8:30 to go recover
the body.
