I sadly forward this message, as I and many have dove w/ George through the years. George was the dean of NJ wreck diving, were many of us fledglings learned 'NJ wreck diving'. Diving on the Sea Lion (old & new) was tantamout to the best in diving. RIP Esat Atikkan **************Message Forwarded **************************** We've just been informed that George Hoffman, longtime New Jersey wreck diver and Captain of the dive boat Sea Lion, passed away yesterday (January 14). Services are planned; I'll post more info when it's available. There's an article on our web site, written about a year ago by Dan Berg, which I think makes a nice tribute to all that "Gentleman George" accomplished in his 40 years of diving. For anyone interested: http://www.njscuba.com/General/Hoffman/index.html Captain Hoffman's death is a great loss to the NJ wreck diving community, and he will be missed. --tab -- Tracey Wagner ----> NEW ADDRESS: tab@po*.co* <---- *** New Jersey SCUBA Diving -- http://www.njscuba.com *** "Far beneath the sea, the past and the present come together as one, and we have been allowed to touch them both." -- Brad Sheard, _Beyond Sportdiving_ ---- End Forwarded Message
