I lost one off Grand Turk Island in 1972. Thank god I was only down 100
feet. In my opinion, burst disks are among the dumbest things mandated by
our government.
None of my tanks have them now. I will not place my well being on some
small bit of copper which may fail at the wrong moment. I can understand
their use for applications which don't involve users possibly drowning.
The Europeans seem to survive quite nicely without them as well.
