I'd guess the probabilities were closer to those of having either your
house (where the tanks are stored) or your boat (where the tanks might be
used) burn down.

I've always understood the main purpose of a burst disk to be to allow
an overheated tank to blow without turning into a fragmentation grenade.
If so, I'd guess they go more frequently than meteorite strikes since house
fires are always making the news.  Then again I could be wrong, not all
houses are equiped with presurized tanks, and not all tanks are equiped
with burst disks, so who really knows?
