Steve, I do not care what I am breathing. Since I know I am not hypoxic or going over the supply gas, and could care less about deco weenery, I do not want anything that will complicate the proceess - I am there to do something esle, diving is just the vehicle. I have no senors, computers, not nothing - one pressure guage, one bottom timer, two buddies. We all look out for each other, we all have the same gas, the same breathing rate, the same gear, the same scooter, etc. The rb's which change breathing volume and speed with your breathing (keyed to RMV) will produce a relatively predictable percent oxygen which depends on the ratio number of times you use each breath, and the depth). You can fool them by holding you breath, or by not purging on ascent, but not by working hard. The ones that freeflow the gas you can outbreath, but you know that goind in and don't do it. The ones that mix the gas, well that is another bet, and one that i have no time for, but then my application is not right for that anyway, so I do not get involved. I will have no sensors or electronics on my person underwater, and it is bad enough that I have to do this stupidity in the chamber to satisfy the weenies. I have a degree in math and do not need to sit in a chamber to prove it. I will not get bent, and do not care if I do anyway. It is ridiculous that I have to go sit in a chamber to do what I already did for real because the weenies don't believe it. Some other poor guy had to do most of it, but now we are down to the life threatening stuff, so you-know-who has to do it - the only one they know who can pull it off with no problems, and they know that becaseu I arleady did it for real, so here we are agin aback at nowhere. I'll dive , the rest can talk about diving. the PVR-BASC units hold ppo2 tigghter than any closed unit, and very near the supply gas, and again, only a true techno weenie would give flying fuck, and if they think that there is tha much accuracy in decompression they have just plain not ever done a real dive. -- G George M.
