Scott, Solo is an interersting way of diving -- I do it a lot, my first 2000 solos with doubles were on splits -- then in the past two years have gone to manifold with long hose --- it took a while to get aclimated to the long hose especially solo but it has become just part of the rig now. I dive with the isolator only open partially -- enough for full flow but little enough so i an raise my left hand behind my neck and just slide my palm against the isolator and shut it down. I also practice it often. having dived splits for so long I am not really concerned about acessing both tanks immediately I just want to isolate first then determine if I need to shut down the failed unit. if so I will and then reopen isolator --- if not jsut let it go and breathe that one down till its spent and go back to other one. ala splits -- if its a high pressure blow it will be a long while for it to spew empty -- a low pressure and it will go faster but I will still retain all of the other cylinder.
