Thanks to everyone on the list for input. Last Sunday and Monday I actually did two gas dives with two interleaved air dives on the Andrea Doria, all in the 200-230 fsw range. I wasn't fully comfortable with using the Aladin Pro as I described in my note, since I was concerned about the possibility of existing bubbles from the trimix dive growing during the air dive in ways that were not accounted for by the Buhlmann alg. What I did was to use the DECOM program to cut trimix 18/40 tables, and then accelerated air with EAN80 deco repetitive tables (I certify that I am not a paid representative of Ronnie Bell - in fact I forgot that he was involved with DECOM or would have emailed him some questions). My Aladin got bent on every dive, but my buddy and I are fine. For anyone that might be planning to do this wreck, I would recommend air for dives outside the wreck that don't go well below 200. Under conditions we had - pretty good vis, but strong currents, you are probably better off without multiple stage bottles but with a little bit of narcosis. If you want to go in, however, I would advise gas, especially because you are out of the current and won't be carrying stages inside. On three of the four dives we went in to explore the second class dining area. This involves a couple of turns, and going down stairs two decks. The gas dives were pretty straightforward but the became very confusing on air at 210 fsw! John jheimann@is*.nd*.gt*.co*
