I suppose that for the NAVY's program to work, there must be some
mechanism that makes sure that someone who screws the pooch and
admits it istn't too much penalized for it.
In french, we say "Faute avou=E9e est =E0 moiti=E9 pardonn=E9e" ("Admited
bad deed is half excused").
I dunno, but I guess that many who'd fear being barbecued =E0 la sauce
Irvine would think twice about admitting their fuckup...
In the same league, I remember reading that, a few hours before
Apollo 11 blasted-off, the NASA head honcho went to see Armstrong
Aldrin and Collins and told them that he personally guaranteed them
that if they had, for any reason, to abort the lunar descent or
anything in the mission, that they would all be on the next lunar
flight.
