One key advantage of an isolator manifold system that (I think) no one has mentioned yet is their suitability for those of us who frequently use full face masks in extremely cold water. With independent doubles, a reg switch is necessitated just to be able to follow proper gas management procedures. (unless the rules are different for independents, I wouldn't know...). With an iso manifold, if there are no failures, I keep the mask on for the duration of the bottom gas profile. Granted, a mask/reg switch is no big deal (if it is, you really shouldn't be diving), but if I can keep my face warm and be safer at the same time, why not? Then there are the multiple safety advantages of an iso manifold which have already been stated numerous times on this list. -Sean On Sun, 29 Dec 1996 22:27:45 -0800, Behind the Mast wrote: >Can anyone say what advantage a manifold system has >over an independant system?
