My company is tentatively going to do a field production and live broadcast from Truk Lagoon In late February for one of my Asian clients. Our crew of 5 will be providing all uw videography and the live transmission back to Asia from the boat. While I have most of the technical collecting and broadcast elements locked in, I need to verify the worth of a the provisioner that my client has contracted to provide the 65' boat, tanks and logistics support coordination. My guys will bring their own gear with the exception of the tanks. We are planning on diving EANx via twin steel 80's, which is no problem for us. Our concern is that the client has provided us with a quality provisioner and not some fly by night operator who's borrowing his Uncle Chewie's boat and hard gear to make a fast yen. I prefer not to divulge the provisioner's name my client has contracted. I would like for anyone who has hired such facilities in the past out of Truk to advise the names of outfits that are qualified, advanced, and equiped in their work to provide services for such a production. we are not talking vacationing livaboards (at least not this time), we are talking about technical dive support as it relates to underwater videography production and the broadcast of such production live via Intelsat or Inmarsat back to the mainland. Again, I have the technical support ironed out (cameras, lights, sub-post editing, switching and transmission), I just need to know who is the class act in Truk that can support such an event.
