>Perhaps with a series of bungee cords this could be made automatic! >Say when you bend your legs at the hips and knees you could hook up a >series of bungees and pulleys so the cannister is retracted as you sit >down. Not automatic enough. Needs laser guided servos, powered by another cannister of batteries, but since they can be automatic also, that's not a problem. The CPU could be anything but a Pentium, as they would only raise the cannisters part way up. The small chip required, being square, would even fit inside a Diverite Neutralite, and thus would allow a Neutralite to fullfill that sacred tenent of Hogarthian diving, by serving two purposes. The laser would pick up and reflect off any surface at butt level, and, sensing the bench and therefore the coming seating sequence, would tell the servos to raise the cannister(s). This system would eliminate the problem of being "butt beat" every time you took a kick with your fins, as the pulley system would react to the fin stroke the same way they would when you sit down. Off course, it would still kick your ass every time you swam past a hammerhead... --------- "Huh?" --Jammer, 1992 ---------
