With these wonderful spheres, even a home-made magnetometer >couldn't pick you up as you mined a ship! Ain't technology grand. ... Actually, a lot of these rebreathers are used for mine clearance. The fancy kind of mine (not the round black things with the horns, but the ones that lay on the bottom and go off under the 4th tanker to pass over on an alternate Tuesday) are equipped with "anti-diver devices". The idea is that if it can tell you're there, by bubble noise, magnetic anomaly, or whatever, then if it utters the one word in its vocabulary (BOOM!!!) you won't be disarming any of the other mines in the area. With a nice quiet non-magnetic rebreather, a well-trained, careful solo diver has a fighting chance. -- Anthony DeBoer http://www.onramp.ca/~adb/ adb@he*.re*.or* (here) adb@ge*.co* (work) #include "std.disclaimer"
