I've taken both a Nikonos III and a Nikonos IV below 250'.  The III isn't
as good for deep because the pressure can cause the film backplate to
scratch the film.  Incidently, I've also had an Ikelite housing to twice
its rated depth without incident.  However, I wouldn't recommend it.  If
you want a good deep housing, you should get an aluminum one.
