I don't know about everyone, but I've never used a scooter for ab diving and I've never heard of or met anyone who does. I'm not even sure it's legal here in California, but even if it were I think you'd have to be a little crazy to try it. We're a superstitious lot. We already worry about looking too much like seals without having to worry that we're moving like one. Speed coupled with a surface silouette dosn't sound like a good mix to me. Anything that makes noise is a bad idea. Aside from the shark threat, I can't imagine lugging a scooter down some of the cliffs we use for entries or negotiating a scooter in and out of the water in high surf at the base of a shear wall. It just doesn't make any sense. Ab divers are a pretty 'hogarthian' group even though few of us could spell it. Scott.
