Thanks for the info Mike.  It actually surprised me with what you said.  
I have always felt that swimming in the St. Lawrence was kind of like 
swimming in Halifax Harbour, which we don't do out here.  Vis out here 
is about 40 feet most of the time and the temp rises to a balmy 60 deg F.
