Rod,

I know kitty litter when I taste it and besides kitty litter lumps up.

I'm using the 8 -12 grain size and I did screw up the math in the post.

On the last canister I got 12 hours. No headache and no other symptoms, but
I am in warm water, was very shallow and was practicing diving the rig
manually, working on my BC design and generally exploring disaster
scenarios which seemed to require little energy.

This canister use for this last set of dives was planned for 10 hours and
surprised me by coming up 4 (four) hours short of the previous 12 hours.

I had not decided on the recommended 8 hours yet. As John said, everyone's
metabolism is different, and of course you always want to consider yourself
to be the exception.

I think my main point here is that I am fishing for symptoms of hypercapnia
and trying to better understand the dynamics of the scrubber. It sounds
like there are substantial warning signs that precede the black out and
they are being noticed by working cameramen. That in itself is a relief.

How does pressure affect the scrubber? The question seems obvious, but
someone has to say, "like this...." or it remains a hypothesis in my mind
which isn't comforting.

Confidence in my understanding of the gear is my target before I start
going deep.

Mike
