To new subscribers to this list, I suggest that you lurk for a year or
so. This way you:

a) can gauge if your delicate sensibilities can handle the salty format.
b) can get a feeling of the flow of discussion and the personalities
involved.
c) don't do a post which makes you look like a a-hole idiot whiny stroke.

If you don't like what you read on this list, then by all means start a
thread which has interest, humor or information. What makes this list
look bad is the endless whining, pissing and moaning by panty-waist
wussies who-

-Can't take a joke.
-Can't stand it when they see someone having some fun.
-Have absolutely nothing to add to this list but whiny, pissy posts.

If you can't deal with the above then send unsubscribe to
techdiver-request@terra.net and may I suggest the more genteel world of
CIS or, horror of horrors, AOL.

   Jim

>In the few days I have been on this list, I find it hard to believe some of
>the commentary people love to express. I thought the purpose of this list
>was to provide people with an interest in the technical aspects of diving a
>forum to exchange information. I have seen postings from people who choose
>to make slanderist remarks about Europeans and Canadians as an example, or
>from people whose vocabulary is limited to every profane word in the book.
>
>I find it hard to believe that these people represent the technical diving
>community. I am an ex-commercial diver from the oil fields, so in no way do
>I have virgin ears. I do know that we knew there was a time and a place for
>everything. I do not believe many of the comments expressed by certain
>members of this list are representative of the majority. If they are please
>let me know so I can establish a list of people who have a serious interest
>in technical diving and desire a mature forum to exchange views with others
>and we can leave techdiver@terra.net to the trash of society.
>
>In the future, when we read the trash, I urge all other serious divers to
>send the trash an email informing them that their comments and attendance are
>not welcome here.
