The principle is to refereence the dishcarge line to the internal suit pressure so that the line does not collapse, and at the same time prevent water fom coming back into the line from outside, and also to prevent it or the piss form getting into the suit. The answer is two one-way valves on a "T": from the lapenga, a christmas tree in the surgical tubing which attatches to the condom catheter, the line runs to a quick disconnnect (standard I.V. line disconnect) after which there is a "T". Both sides of the T have a one-way valve : the line going overboard is one way out, and the T is one-way from the atmosphere of the dry suit to the line. The one-way valves have a christmas tree on each side, and twist apart in the middle. They have screens buitlt-in to prevent hankgup and the have o-rings to seal the twist-snap. You will see that this solves everything , from balance to leak prevention to lack of pissing resistance. Of course, this was designed by Bill Gavin, the guys whom the dumb red necks have been badmouthing for ten years, but now that he is retired from cave-diving , they work on me. If you put a flap of neopreme over it you will not feel the mechanism against your skin - attach it with velcro on either side. It has its overboard conncection on the inside of either leg and that has a protectivve flap of laminate over the outside so that it does not catch on anything. Remember that anything inside of your drysuit will cut right into your skin if you fail to inflate on the way down . I carry a cork in my pocket in a plastic bag in case something fails . I will draw this up and send it to the web guys, but it is really simple. The valves and disconnect can be pruchased from any medical supply or from Small Parts, Inc. in Miami. I will also go over this and every thig else at the workshop. Brent, Jarrrod, and Rick will be there to help. - G >Email work: loz@an*.co*.uk* > home: divebase@ms*.co* >Home tel/fax: +44 1483 568435 >-- >Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@terra.net'. >Send subscription/archive requests to `techdiver-request@terra.net'. > > George M.
