thirty five years ago (or so) rebreathers hit the market, do the lack of
proper training and unresponsible divers they quickly got "bad press"
and even now are struggling in their return... *that* is a damn shame.

in my opinion this stuff (nitrox, trimix, rebreathers, in water recompression
and the such) is much bigger than all of us individually... i feel that we
have a responsibility to the future of the industry (not commercially) to
make sure this doesn't happen again.  to provide the divers that follow
that want a better way just that... a better way.  if we screw it up by
getting in a hurry, or not paying attention to some minor details then
we all loose, and not just shops to get our fills or equipment, or
insurance for training... we loose our friends and maybe even our family.
and i personally don't want to be the one that has to explain why someone
didn't come back from a dive.

i totally agree that the forum should be open... but... maybe we
(myself included) should "engage brain before starting mouth" ..
a little more carefully... i keep thinking about all the new
diver intros onto the list that start out with:

"I am recently certified and want to get into technical diving,
that's why I'm on the list..."
