Dear colleagues, Many-many thanks to those of You who have sent me stories about incidents underwater. They will be included into the book. Thus, I may thank You on behalf of all Russian recreational divers and instructors. For those who did not read my poster some time ago, I repeat what's the matter. I am writing a FIRST diving manual for Russian recreational divers (in Russian). All of You colleagues hearing me, are welcome to help me with this book. There will be a chapter of "thrilling" stories - di- ving incidents ended with one of those illnesses we instructors talk about: DSC, gas embolism, N-narcosis etc. While teaching all this in my school, I always realise that novices do ot take it seriously - they rather think of that as of a bloody theory happening to others, but not to them. Real incidents have much more influence on their at- titude. Anyone willing to send a story of his own experience or of the friend's, please, contact me personally by the following addresses: E-mail: dima@or*.bi*.ms*.su* Post: Dr. Dmitri Orlov Dept of Underwater Research Eco-Center, Moscow State University Moscow 119899 Russia Thank You in advance! Best wishes to all, Dmitri
