Another factor to consider is heart-rate (=circulation rate). As for breathing rates, I figure it depends on whether the limiting factor of off-gasing is the diffusion of gas molecules at the tissue:blood interface, or at the blood:alveoli interface. Also, it may well be that variations in gas uptake/off-gas due to breathing rate is dwarfed by other variables. I look forward to the response from the physiologically-inclined among the forum.....
