I would expand that to say that the best use of rebreathers is from about 
60-120 feet (ESPECIALLY for multi-level dives in this range) for deco 
purposes, and deeper than about 300 feet or so for gas management 
purposes.  The only real advantages these gizmos give you at other depths 
is the ability for huge bottom times with a small pack, virtually silent 
operation, and somewhat increased comfort and heat/moisture retention.  
These other advantages probably won't be all that important for the vast 
majority of recreational divers.
