Billy, Well, I have got to admit it.. you are right. This whole damn thing is my fault. I should have had my hearing-aid in when I thought I overheard Henry Fleuss saying that he was "going down on the tunnel" and had to hold his breath. How was I to know that it was not Henry Fleuss but Heidi Fleiss, when I suggested that they should get a rebreather. Gender differences in non-contact sports were never my strong subject. But hey, that's what academic-physiologist-wannabe-divers are all about. I think a few of useful topics of consensus did come out of the RB2 forum: 1) Flying a CCR with a setpoint pPO2 > 1.4 ATA is for cowboys. OK, deco is something else. 2) Having a bunch o' cert cards does not a CCR instructor make (Even if you are just smart enough to pick up the phone and call an ol' buddy ;-) And an organization with more instructors than there are units is to be reckoned as more glitz than guts. 3) Muscle memory is what counts. 4) Despite the techspeak, neither the engineers nor the physiologists have all the answers: Divers Proceed with Caution -peter heseltine On Wed, 2 Oct 1996 bdi@ha*.co*.au* wrote: > Personally, I blame Heseltine for posting such > an intelligent, precise and informative message > in the first place. > > rgrds billyw
