Yesterday I heard an interview with Jacque Mayol on CBC radio.  
I though at least 2 of his points would be interesting to the 
free divers on this list.  He described how preasure on the 
thorax squeezes blood from the liver and spleen and 
displaces it into the thorax.  This has 2 effects.  One it reduces
the residual volume of the lungs preventing a squeeze and two it places 
this blood in the circulation so that the oxygen in it is available 
for metabolism..  I had never heard the latter point before.  Anyone know 
if it is true?

The second point was "SCLERA" (sp?) contact lenses.  These are used instead
of a mask.  Mayol claimed that you can see better with these than a mask.
Does anyone know if they are available?
