I suppose it would depend on how much/how long you talk...<<<<< Pinks, I have found that I DON'T consume "more" air when using the FFM - in fact, on one of my last dives in the Solomon's, I got 96 minutes out of a 2700 lb. fill of a 80 cu. ft. bottle, at 60 ft. all the while shooting about 30 minutes of my "on-camera" talking about the wreck of the Kasi Maru. I don't know if this put my air consumption up there with some of these hard-core cavin' dudes, but it sure took me off the Hoover list... Also, dry mouth is no longer an issue for me with the FFM. When you can breathe through your nose, it seems to solve that problem. Burping is also another underwater activity that one can enjoy with the FFM, and if you depress the transmit button, one that you can share with all of your friends too... As for Mr. Pyle wondering about bailout: Rich, I like Bev's design for popping a OC second stage in your mouth, without having to pull the FFM off - but don't forget that Tracy came up with that OC bailout on the DSV. I've used it in what was (for me) an emergency situation, and I think it may have kept my ass alive. The problem with Bev's mask, as I see it, is that they won't be in production for over a year - It would be nice if he provided us filmmakers some masks to use, but since every studio in Hollywood uses his stuff already, he has no use for us small Cleaning Wrasses of the film industry...
