Tom, When I was in the Solomons last, I took doxy, and had no increase in photosensitivity. However some individuals get severe sunburn, even with strong sun protection cream. All the locals don't take anything. The Peace Core girls we met did not use any medication for mararia, despite being required to. I would not take Doxy again, on principle, as by using antibiotics indiscriminately, we are breeding super bugs which are immune to there effects. You will like the Guadacanal wrecks I am sure, they are the easiest dives I have ever done, on a scale of 1 to 10 I rate 0 to 1 for difficulty. The locals however think they are difficult dives, and spend hours planning a routine dive. Be sure to bring your nitrox cert. card if you want gas fills, Rod Nairne.
