It's not perfect, but it does work! In line signals there are no single 'bells' unless they're preceded by a sequence of couplets. To give an example - using 'taps' instead of 'Pulls' and 'Bells' - and using the standard line signals. "I am going down." [3 Pulls]. Tap: Tap: Tap. "I want to come up. Assist me up." [ 4 Pulls and 2 bells]. Tap: Tap: Tap: Tap: Tap-Tap. Best of all it's universal. Tones are good! But why limit yoursef with just a few different size cylinders? Just sling the old xylophone round your neck and you've got the full Websters dictionary right at your finger tips!:-) David
